Week 2 Heroes & Zeros

This was a great week to start…

QBs
Aaron Rodgers, Packers – Got off to a rough start, but rallied with 346 passing yards and 3 TDs, 28 rushing yards and a fumble.
Jay Cutler, Bears – He also started slow, but finished with 176 yards and 4 TDs, plus 25 rushing yards, without a turnover.
Philip Rivers, Chargers – Defied the vaunted Seahawks defense by passing for 284 yards and 3 TDs without a turnover.
Peyton Manning, Broncos – Passed for “just” 242 yards but had another TD trio without a turnover.

RBs
Darren Sproles, Eagles – Ran for 26 yards and a TD, but exploded with 7 receptions for 152 yards.
Ahmad Bradshaw, Colts – Had 70 rushing yards and caught 5 passes for 26 yards and a pair of TDs.
Giovani Bernard, Bengals – Ran for 90 yards and a TD, adding 5 receptions for 79 yards.
DeMarco Murray, Cowboys – Rumbled for 167 yards and a TD, though he lost a fumble.
Knile Davis, Chiefs – Ran for 79 yards and 2 TDs and caught 6 passes for 26 yards in relief of Jamaal Charles.
Alfred Morris, Redskins – Tallied 85 yards and 2 TDs on the ground.

WRs
Jordy Nelson, Packers – Raced past the Jets with 209 yards and a score on 9 receptions.
Brandon Marshall, Bears – Pulled down 5 passes for 48 yards and a TD hat trick.
Dez Bryant, Cowboys – Despite an early injury, reeled in 10 passes for 103 yards and a TD.
Randall Cobb, Packers – Scored twice on 5 catches for 39 yards.
Sammy Watkins, Bills – Showed his rookie promise with 8 receptions for 117 yards and a TD.
James Jones, Raiders – Hauled in 9 passes for 112 yards and a trash-time TD, though he lost a fumble.

TEs
Antonio Gates, Chargers – Ladarius who? The well-aged TE reeled in 7 catches for 96 yards and a TD trifecta.
Jimmy Graham, Saints – Hogged all Brees’ attention with 10 receptions for 118 yards and 2 TDs.
Delanie Walker, Titans – Torched Dallas with 10 receptions for 142 yards and a TD.
Owen Daniels, Ravens – Scored twice on 5 receptions for 28 yards.

D/STs
Patriots – Smothered the Vikings with 6 sacks, 4 INTs, scored on a blocked FG and held Minnesota to 7 points.
Bills – Collected 4 sacks, 2 turnovers, a kickoff return TD and held Miami to 10 points.
Redskins – Sacked Chad Henne 10 times, got an INT and held the Jags to 10 points.

Robert Griffin III, Redskins – Just 38 passing and 22 rushing yards before leaving with a nasty ankle injury.
Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers – Limited to 217 passing yards and an INT, without a score.
Matt Ryan, Falcons – After his impressive opener, passes for just 231 yards, with 3 INTs offsetting his lone TD pass.
Matt Cassel, Vikings – Tossed 4 picks while accumulating just 202 yards and 1 TD.

RBs
Knowshon Moreno, Dolphins – Knocked out of the game after a 4-yard carry.
Jamaal Charles, Chiefs – Totaled just 12 yards before exiting with an ankle injury.
Carlos Hyde, 49ers – Not getting enough touches to matter, as his 5-total-yard day proved.
Lamar Miller, Dolphins – Even with the backfield mostly to himself, managed only 46 yards rushing and 7 receiving.
Toby Gerhart, Jags – Just 8 rushing and 9 receiving yards.
Fred Jackson, Bills – Totaled 51 combined yards.
Reggie Bush, Lions – Disappoints with just 26 rushing yards and 2 catches for 6 yards.
Chris Johnson, Jets – Limited to 21 rushing yards.
Shane Vereen, Patriots – Took a backseat to Stevan Ridley, rushing for just 40 yards.
Pierre Thomas, Saints – Ran and received for 16 yards each.
Matt Forte, Bears – Ran for just 21 and caught 5 passes for 15 yards.
Shonn Greene, Titans – Rushed for 40 yards (37 more than Bishop Sankey).
Ryan Mathews, Chargers – Combined for 57 yards before leaving with an injury.
Eddie Lacy, Packers – Held to 43 rushing and 18 receiving yards on 2 receptions.

WRs
A.J. Green, Bengals – Left with a toe injury before catching a pass.
Marques Colston, Saints – Blanked by the Browns.
Danny Amendola, Patriots – Shut out of the action.
Greg Jennings, Vikings – Limited to a 4-yarder.
Rod Streater, Raiders – Caught a 6-yard pass.
Riley Cooper, Eagles – He had an 8-yarder.
Torrey Smith, Ravens – Caught a 10-yarder. That’s it.
Pierre Garcon, Redskins – Held to a 12-yarder.
Allen Hurns, Jags – Only 13 yards on 2 receptions. Mm-hmm.
Michael Floyd, Cardinals – Just 19 yards on the day.
DeSean Jackson, Redskins – He, too, had 19 yards before leaving injured.
Terrance Williams, Cowboys – Only 20 yards on 2 receptions.
Tavon Austin, Rams – Ran for 21 yards but didn’t catch a pass.
Reggie Wayne, Colts – Just 28 yards on 3 catches.
Kelvin Benjamin, Panthers – Collected 46 yards on 2 balls.
Roddy White, Falcons – Only 42 yards on 5 receptions.
Brandin Cooks, Saints – Ran for 31 yards but only caught 3 passes for 17 yards.
Anquan Boldin, 49ers – Only 34 yards on 2 catches.
Kendall Wright, Titans – Despite the favorable matchup, just 31 yards on 3 catches.

Rob Gronkowski, Patriots – Only 32 yards on 4 catches.

Vernon Davis, 49ers – Just 39 yards on 3 receptions before leaving early.
